Eleanor Moorhouse is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist who emotively extracts colour from the landscapes she encounters on her global travels. With a powerful desire to depict feeling from a vista, she delves into themes of escapism, identity and movement in her paintings. Each artwork offers a refreshing glimpse into an abstract landscape, whether it be a cool toned ocean view or an emotional nirvana communicated through colour, stroke and texture. Eleanor is fascinated by wanderlust and the power of nature that can ignite a journey of emotional exploration.
For as long as I have known, I have documented my travels; whether that be in a journal, sketchbook or by taking photographs. I love to completely engross myself in the local culture, cuisine and history of a new place and do as much walking and exploring as possible. It is a privilege to travel and I like to squeeze as much out of it as possible. My artwork captures my emotive transportation; they are storybooks of my experience of a particular place. The canvases are the final result of my appreciation for a location; a snapshot that hopefully transports you and inspires a feeling of wanderlust.
